A very hardy plant the epiphytic vriesea bromeliads are native to Central and South America. They are prized for their interesting and brightly colored flat (swordlike) flowers. They do well as indoor plants in shady conditions, and they can be kept outdoors as long as they are kept warm in shadier balcony gardens. Here is one version of my bromelaids,I am hoping to do more versions of them in the near future and a DIY to create them.If you are the type of person have a "black thumb" :-) these are for you..They won't wilt even if you dont water them.
They are a gentle tweak on the fire flowers from the book.Templates are also in the book.I would love to hear your comments so do leave your suggestions or comments below!
